Twitter personality, social commentator, and self-proclaimed coach Solomon Buchi has criticized gospel ministers for incorporating trendy and secular musical trends into their worship sessions.
Buchi voiced his disapproval after seeing viral video of a popular gospel minister participating in the popular gwo gwo challenge.
He argued that such actions do not constitute true gospel music or ministry but are merely emotionalism aimed at stirring up listeners.
He also condemned the infusion of the 12345678 trend into praise and worship, stressing that worship should offer maximum reverence to God.

Buchi stressed the need to maintain the sacredness of the Christian faith and urged gospel musicians to refrain from diluting it with secular trends.
In his statement, Buchi said, “It’s sad to see ‘gospel ministers’ incorporate trendy and secular musical phrases into their ministrations. This isn’t gospel music, nor is it a ministration. It’s just emotionalism, employing every possible means to gyrate listeners. I’m sick of it!
Some ministers have also incorporated the 12345678 trend into praise and worship, which should be frowned upon. We are offering praise to God, who deserves the maximum reverence. Stop soiling the sacrosanctity of our faith.
It’s high time we called some gospel musicians what they are—entertainers riding on the wave of the Christian faith. They’re not ministers, and that’s fine.”
